The Western Australian Miyawaki Forests

The first Miyawaki forest at a school in Australia. The 100 m2 forest was planted in July 2021 by the students of Years 5 and 6. This pocket forest was part funded by Planet Ark National Tree Day Seedling Bank and in partnership with SUGi.

The second Miyawaki forest at a school in Australia. This 100 m2 forest was planted by the students of Years 4, 5 and 6 in July 2022. This pocket forest was funded by Carbon Positive Australia and will contribute to urban restoration and enhance biodiversity in the area.

The third Miyawaki forest at a school in Australia.  This 100 m2 forest was planted by the students of Years 1 to 6 in August 2022. This pocket forest was funded by Carbon Positive Australia, and will contribute to urban restoration in the area.

A 200 m2 community pocket forest was planted in the rural town of Brookton, two hours east of Perth, WA. This pocket forest was funded by Carbon Positive Australia.

Planted in collaboration with Statewide Services (Department of Education). It is their 'Bush Classroom' demonstration forest, and will contribute to  Healing Country and be used for teacher training purposes. The pocket forest is 200 m2.

This pocket forest will restore part of a Banksia woodland  adjacent to the school that is currently degraded with invasive weed and tree species. This forest
